How has the 15 pound Christmas Challenge gone? Not so great with me. I seem to be up and down with a few pounds. I just can’t seem to get pass a certain weight. It is really irritating, and I know I am doing something wrong.
I have been very good about drinking my water daily. Really, that is all I drink around our house. I rarely make tea or Kool-Aid for the kids. Our choices are slim with just milk or water. On occasion, since it is cooler weather, we will have hot chocolate.
I have also been doing okay watching my portion control. Making sure that I get smaller amounts of the carbohydrates or fatty foods. I try to make sure that I eat plenty of my veggies and fruits.
The area I am lacking in is the exercising section. I have good intentions of getting in a walk and something will come up. No matter the time or day. I am going to do my best to make it a priority to get that walking in. I also need to add some toning in there as well.
It is going to be a challenge since Thanksgiving is a week and a half away. Then we will only be a month away from Christmas. Time is quickly moving, so I need to get moving as well.
So I am back to 220. I would really love to lose that 15 lbs by Christmas with my friends. Back to counting calories, drinking my water and yes, I am going to get in my walks. Next week, there will be a loss of weight on my part. I know I can do this.
For some reason whenever I tell myself I need to lose weight I can't seem to do it. I have noticed keeping a food journal REALLY helps!! 🙂
I write down EVERYTHING I eat. So if I am about to eat a cupcake.. I say, "Do I really want to write that down".. Kinda makes you think before eating. Keeps me on track! 🙂
Hi Joy! I'm having the same problem. I was doing really well with my running, then I got sick and now I just can't seem to get going again. I am painfully close to my first goal right now, but have been in a "holding pattern" for a while. Need to get outside and move! We can do it! 🙂
If I were to write a post about my weight loss struggles, it would be almost these exact words (with a little higher number in the weight section, lol). This is the EXACT problem I have. I'm okay at not snacking a lot, I pay attention to portion sizes, I eat a healthy amount of fruits and veggies and pay attention to fats and carbs….but EXERCISE…it's like the bane of my existence. I can't seem to force myself to do it! I lost about 10/15 pounds before my cousin's wedding, was exercising regularly, bought a new dress…was happy with how the weight was coming off and then, after the wedding…STOPPED! She got married in May. Not cool, not cool at all. I've only gained back a pound or two since then but I certainly haven't lost anymore. 🙁
Thanks for sharing! I'd love to be at my ideal weight by the time I'm 30…but even with 2 1/2 years to go I'm skeptical. 🙂
I'm coming by on Mingle Monday from Add a Pinch. Your honesty will be your guide. I lost 73 pounds w/o doing any specific exercise. Just watched what I ate, using Weight Watchers. Took me about 9 months but I did it! And you can too!
Keep it up!! Not losing weight doesn't mean that your not being healthy. I think that's the most important thing to focus on is how your eating habits, drinking water, etc benefits you more than just in weight loss.
I also lack in exercising! There's always something else that needs to be done. I have now started doing what exercises I can in bed before getting up and even in the shower or cooking. Sit ups, marching, stretching, etc. It's not ideal, but for me it's better than nothing. Hehe…
Take care!
Dee
Go, Joy! I found that as much as I love blogging, I end up sitting too much. We have a treadmill, so I put a makeshift desk over the top (for my laptop) and walk at 1 mph with incline for an hour to an hour and a half six days a week. That's what I'm doing right now! It's really helping. Walking is an awesome exercise. I'll be cheering you on!
