The month of January has really flown by. During this month, I had joined up with Meghan and Ashley for the 3 in 30, making goals a reality 3 at a time.
Looking back at my goals, overall, I think I did pretty good. Let’s take a look a little closer at each individual goal that I made for myself.
1. I want to be more grounded in my faith and what I believe, so when asked, I can share my love of Jesus without wavering. So that means daily prayer and studying the word of God. I honestly think I have read my bible daily and studied it throughout the week. I am going to continue reading and studying my bible. I love reading about God and what He has done for us and what I need to be doing for Him.
2. I want to get back into making cards. My goal is to make at least 1 card a week, whether it be for birthdays, anniversaries or just for words of encouragement. I didn’t do as well with this as I would have liked to. I am needing to set aside a little time for this. I did make a couple of cards, but would have liked to of made more. I am going to continue working on this one.
3. To get back to a healthier lifestyle. This means, to track what I eat daily, drink more water/less caffeine, and to exercise at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. I am half and half on this goal. I definitely have been eating a lot better. I have been drinking a lot more water also. I haven’t exercised like I should have, but I have made a lot of progress this week. I have walked/jogged a couple of days this past week a mile at a time.
While I think I did okay overall, I definitely think I could have done better. Even though I made time to read my bible and study, I would like to make more time to do an online bible study I came across. As I said before, I need to make time in the day or once a week to sit down with my crafting materials to make cards. While I am eating healthier, I also need to make sure I get in my daily exercise, which I think I am finally fitting in to my day.
Now on to my February goals. I have thought and prayed about what I would like to accomplish during the month of February and I think I finally have come up my goals.
1. Blog at least 3 times a week. I don’t want to count link-ups as part of my posts either. I want to post something that is from my heart.
2. I am upping my exercise to 4 days a week.
3. To declutter and clean one room a week in my home. This includes dusting which I really hate to do!
I am looking forward to seeing how everyone else did on their goals and what they have planned for the upcoming month!
I'm so with you on the hatred for dusting… my husband and I both hate it, so we have lots of "country charm" around our house! 🙂
Good job on making progress on your January goals… good luck with your February goals! 😀
Oh man! I am so with you on dusting! I am proud of you for taking better care or yourself, spiritually by reading God's Word and spending time with Him in prayer and also physically by eating better and exercising. My eating habits have changed this past month also but I do need to exercise more. I do better when I have a friend to walk/run with. Keep up the good work!
I don't mind the dusting. It's the actually decluttering paper. I'm never sure if we should recycle it or keep it for prosperity. Great job this month. Don't keep track of what you didn't do, but what you accomplished.
Good goals, Joy. Sometimes I don't get in a quiet time for bible reading..and I don't get upset with myself about it. There are some days I get so much study time in and I feast so immensely on it, that if I miss a day.. I don't feel bad. And ya know what's even better than reading the Bible? Knowing that the Living Word dwells within us and is always with us no matter how many times we miss reading the written words. I love 'seeing' Him in the little things.. like how Ann Voskamp talks about.
