One of our favorite things to do as a family is going a on drive around the area. Since we have moved to Colorado, we have a lot of new areas to explore. One of those areas we went to recently was the Guanella Pass.
Guanella Pass is located in Clear Creek County, west of Denver. It was also named after a worker who had worked for the county for 50 years.
We started the drive in Georgetown, CO.
All along the way, there are places you can pull off the road and hike.
There are also places you can camp.
I see this as being a road that we take often on drives.
Not only do we get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We get to enjoy the special time together.
We leave our phones off, and music softly playing. We enjoy just talking and visiting with one another.
I love this special time with my family.
Do you go on family drives? How do you spend time with your family?
we don’t really do drives in FL – although hubs loves a motorcycle ride – but we drive up to NY for Christmas from FL – and THAT is a great family drive!
We do boat rides – we like to launch our boat up and down different rivers in FL and cruise along the water. Maybe that counts? Cause we sure do that a lot.
Of course a boat ride counts! You are spending time together as a family and that is all that matters. I remember when I was a kid that my dad would take us riding in the boat in the Santa Fe and Suwanee Rivers. Wonderful memories of being together!
I WANT those drives! #nuff #said 😉
I love the drives and am thankful our children enjoy them as much as we do. 🙂
We used to take more drives before the gas prices got crazy!! We love to drive on vacation all over the country. There is nothing like a family car trip! As far as around home, we like to drive the road by the nearby river to take in the waterfowl and eagles in the winter.
Marci, we used to take more drives as well. Often on both days of the weekend. However, we have had to cut back on how often we take our drives as well, because of the price of gas. We do still try to go a couple of times a month. 🙂
LOVE the turquoise in the water!
