There are some days that it just doesn’t seem like much “book” learning gets completed in our homeschooling journey. Or at least as much as I think we should. Some times, things in life just come up that you have to take care of.
This is how it has been at my house the last couple of days. My oldest got sick and I had to take him to the doctor today. Diagnosis? The flu and a sinus infection. So he is now in bed, quarantined so to speak. If he needs something, he is supposed to call out for me and I will come see what he needs. Why? Because I am trying to keep the other 3 kids, as well as myself from getting this nasty bug.
In the meantime, we are bleaching and Lysoling everything down. The younger kids have been told to leave brother alone. It is hard to when he is home. They enjoy having him around.
So while, we may not be getting much “book” work completed, we are learning how to take care of ourselves so as to not get sick. We are also learning how to take care of one another. It is important to help each other in a family. No matter what job or chore needs to be completed, you pitch in and take care of it.
So, if I don’t get by to say hi on the Hip Homeschool Hop or iFellowship, you all will know where I am at and what I am doing. I am trying to take care of my kids to the best of my ability and will be back to blogging when everyone is well.
Have an awesome week!
I love your statement "We are also learning how to take care of one another." That's much more important than book work anyway – especially now! I hope your son gets well quickly and the rest of you stay well.
Thanks for hosting Hip Homeschool Hop so many weeks! Sending lots of love and (((hugs))),

I'm sorry to hear your oldest has the flu. I hope he makes a speedy recovery and I sure hope the rest of the family can escape it!
Hugs & Prayers
oh I'm so sorry, Joy. Ya know..taking care of sick family members can be educational.. health class ya know 😉 And bed rest is a perfect opportunity for 'cable in the classroom' with some Weather Channel viewing for Earth Science class. Take care dear lady. ((hugs))
I hope everyone is feeling better. It is so hard when our kids are sick. I know I just want to sit and hold them and make them feel better.
