Multitude Monday- Blessings #246-255

The blessings just keep flowing from our God above.  What a mighty and awesome God we serve.  Without God my life would be void and incomplete.  Thank you God for the many blessings you have given me.

Here are a few random things that I am so happy to have or be a part of.

246.  Friendships

247.  Family

248.  A mom’s night out with fellow homeschooling moms.

249.  Books.  I truly love to read.  It helps me to relax.

250.  A book club for moms.  A friend and I are forming this.

251.  Hip Homeschool Moms

252.  Seeds of Faith

253.  ThirtyOne.  A company named after Proverbs 31 and one I am proud to be part of.

254.  Pix-O-Sphere

255.  The many friends that I have made from the blogging world.

You can also take part in the Multitude Monday by visiting A Holy Experience.  What are you thankful for or what blessings have you received this week?  I would love to hear them!

Homeschool Mother’s Journal

Homeschool Mother’s Journal

My wonderful friend Sue over at The Homeschool Chick has started a great link-up. I thought I would participate in it. It will reflect on what we accomplished this past week in our homeschooling journey.

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week…

As usual, the week was a busy one.  I stay busy with the 3 younger children at home.  My wonderful hubby heads into work and takes our oldest son with him to the college.
Besides being busy with the normal mom duties, I also help with the Hip Homeschool Moms.  I love helping out other homeschoolers on their journey. The Hip Homeschool Moms have recently started The Hip List.  You can buy, sell and trade your homeschooling materials on this site.  I have also been studying as to what God would have me share on Seeds of Faith, where I am a contributer.
I have been busy praying to God, asking Him what he would have me do with my gifts He has given me.  I want to be an encouragement to moms in their Christian walk as well as their homeschooling journey.

In our homeschool this week…
I had just posted this last week on what we have been using in our homeschool.  Sarah is using America the Beautiful and was studying about Laura Ingalls Wilder.  Samuel and Claire have been busy learning about Dinosaurs.

Places we’re going & people we’re seeing…
This past week Sarah went to dance and musical theater.  We went to church on Wednesday night and had a fun time visiting all of our friends.  Thursday we were able to stay at home and have a relaxing day.  Friday, Sarah has tutoring and Michael went to his job.  Friday night, I was able to attend a mom’s night out.  I went with another homeschooling friend.  She left her youngest son here to play with Samuel and Claire.  They had a blast!  Sarah helped with the younger musical theater class with their production on the weekend.  She helped run props out on stage.

My favorite thing this week was…
We had so many wonderful memories during this last week.  One of my favorite memories is seeing the kids all playing together on Friday night.  They laughed so much and didn’t want their friend to leave.

What’s working/not working for us…
As much as I love Sarah’s history curriculum, she is just not happy with it.  So we will possibly be looking for a different curriculum for next year.  I will also be looking for a different curriculum for the younger ones.  However we will finish with what we have this year.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…
I am already starting to look for curriculum for next year.  I know how my daughter feels about her History curriculum and I know I definitely need something different for the younger kids.  I would like something I could use with all three and just adapt it to their needs.  The last few days, I have looked at Tapestry of Grace.  I used it last year with my oldest and she loved it.  I am just concerned on if I will be able to adapt it with the younger two.

A photo to share…
I don’t have a school photo to share.  So I am going to leave you with a random photo from my stash.  He lost his first tooth and already has another one that is loose.

I hope you have enjoyed a look into a week of our homeschooling journey! 🙂

3 in 30 – week 3

3 in 30 – week 3

It is week 3 of 3 in 30. However, since I missed last weeks link up due to a migraine that I had several days, I thought I would go ahead and give an update on week 2 as well.

In week 2, we were supposed to give an update on how that week went for us. Well, I can say, it did not go well for me at all. Like I mentioned before, I had a headache/migraine most of the week. Even though I did manage to read my bible and pray daily (goal 1), I did not manage to do make any cards (goal 2). I also did not manage to write down what I ate during the week. I also did not exercise any. However, I did not have much of an appetite and still managed to lose 5 lbs(goal 3). So I was only 1 for 3 on week 2 of my goals. I wasn’t happy about that, but sometimes that is the way things go.

For week 3, we are supposed to let you know what quote, scripture or encouraging words have gotten us through this week. Most any scripture that I have read this week has helped me each and every day. However, the one that has stuck out more than any of the other is Psalm 121 that I posted on Wednesday. I also repeat to myself daily, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, Philippians 4:13. I am also part of a group who talks daily to let each other know how our day is going. It is nice to have friends help hold you accountable and to give encouraging words to help you through those tough moments when you don’t feel like you can make it.

I have done well this week with my goals and look forward to wrapping up next Friday to see what I was able to accomplish. Perhaps you will consider taking part in 3 in 30 next month!
