January 7, 1993, I gave birth to our first child. A beautiful baby boy. He came into this world and brought much joy to this young mother. Now, 18 years later, he is still bringing joy to my life. He has grown into a very intelligent and handsome young man. I am so very proud of him. I am looking forward to spending many more birthdays with him.

Son, I just want you to know that I love you very much.
Michael is enjoying his birthday cake with his brother and sisters.
Since we moved to the mountains, it has snowed on his birthday every year.
More pictures of him and his siblings.  I am very blessed that they love each other and get along so well.

3 in 30 – week 1

3 in 30 – week 1

Today is the end of the first week and time for us to check in on how we did with our goals.
I have listed my goals once again and will put in my response in another color at the end of the questions. So here we go!

1. I want to be more grounded in my faith and what I believe, so when asked, I can share my love of Jesus without wavering. So that means daily prayer and studying the word of God. I did really well with this. I read my bible daily and definitely said many prayers throughout the week.

2. I want to get back into making cards. My goal is to make at least 1 card a week, whether it be for birthdays, anniversaries or just for words of encouragement. I have not accomplished this yet, but Friday isn’t over either! LOL i do have all of the stuff out that I will be using, I just need to sit down at the table and get it made. I even know how I am going to make it. I will post a picture next week of my cards.

3. To get back to a healthier lifestyle. This means, to track what I eat daily, drink more water/less caffeine, and to exercise at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. I was half and half on this goal. While I did really well watching what i ate and drinking my water, I did not write down daily what I ate. Also, due to a fibromyalgia flare-up, I have been unable to exercise like I have wanted. It has taken all I can do to actually move over the last few days. I am feeling better today and hope to get in a 30 minute walk.

4. To blog more about what I believe in and to share what I love the most. That would be my love for Jesus, homeschooling my children, taking pictures of our life and sharing recipes that have been handed down from parents and grandparents. I have not done this to the best of my ability either. I did get my Multitude Monday written, as well as my iFellowship Day post written. Other than that, I haven’t written much this week. I need to make a set time to where I can sit down and just focus on what I want to share. So this will take more work as well.

Over all, I think I did okay for this being my first week. I still have 3 more weeks to go and I know I will see some improvements by the end of the month.

Stop by Ashley and Meghan’s to see how everyone else is doing. Show some love and encouragement. It will go a long way in to helping others reach their goals!

Unto These Hills by Billy Graham – Book Review

Unto These Hills by Billy Graham – Book Review

I was given this book by Booksneeze to provide a review.

Unto These Hills is a daily devotional book written by Billy Graham. Each day, the devotion, begins with scripture. Billy Graham then will talk about what the scripture means and then will end it with a short prayer.

This is a wonderful devotional for anyone, from new Christians, to people who have been walking with Jesus for many years. While it is a very simple and easy read, the scripture and the discussion of it by Billy Graham really hits home and will speak to your heart.

I give this devotional book 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone!
