How Are Things With Trixie?

Today is iFellowship Day! Be sure to stop by Seeds of Faith and see all who have lonked up. be sure to stop by and tell the wonderful bloggers hi!

I have had several people ask how things are going with our newest edition. As you can tell, she is loving it! Not only is Trixie loving it, but so are our kids. They are still arguing over who gets to walk her, feed her and give her the dog bones we bought. I am very happy at how they are all working together and taking responsibility for Trixie.

We are keeping Trixie inside the house and the kids have been doing an excellent job picking up their toys and other belongings out of the floor. They also know that Trixie can’t have any food other than dog food and have been doing a great job of picking up any food that may fall to the floor!

Trixie apparently had been an inside dog at one time because she is already house trained. She has not had one accident since we brought her home on Friday afternoon. When she needs to go outside, she will whine just once or twice and go wait at the door for someone to let her out. She also does not mind being on a leash for walks either.

I really feel like God lead us to Trixie. Even though we have only had her for 4 days, she has already blessed our family so much. The children are working together to help take care of her and even playing together with Trixie. We look forward to having Trixie around with us for a very long time!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge- “Begin the Story”

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge- “Begin the Story”

The L.E.N.S. photo challenge this week is “Begin the Story”.  I had a hard time deciding on a picture for this week.  However, I think this one fits the description that Jen wanted us to do.  This picture could begin to tell a story.  What do you think she is doing?  How about I do a beginning sentence?

“Samuel, would you just listen to me?”

So, what do you think happened next? Or what do you think Claire is trying to do?  Take a guess and I will let you know if you are right!

Be sure to stop by Home Is Where You Start From and check out all the others who will be linking up.  I know I am excited to see pictures and try to make a story out of them!

Have a blessed day!

Our Newest Family Member!

Our Newest Family Member!

Well, I don’t know who is more excited, me or the kids.  Hmm..the more I think about it, I just may be!   We have a new member in our family!

Isn’t she adorable!! Her name is Trixie.   She is a Beagle/Basset Hound mix. We have not had a pet since we had to leave our dog in Florida when we moved 5 years ago.  Has it really been that long ago??  Anyhow, a lady that my husband works with sent an e-mail asking if anyone would be interested in taking this little one in.  Well, how could we say no to a face like this!!  I haven’t seen the kids this excited about something in a very long time.  How excited?  They were arguing over who would walk Trixie first!!  I ended up saying I would be the one walking Trixie first and then they started arguing over who would be walking her second.  Oh my!  This could be interesting!  I am praying that their enthusiasm will last!

We have been home with Trixie for about 2 1/2 hours and so far so good!  The kids have been real attentive to her making sure she has plenty of water and food.  We have taken Trixie around the yard for a visit and the kids have had a lot of fun playing with her.

It is now time to get back to the family and Trixie.  I don’t know if I am ever going to get the kids down for bed time.  They are arguing about where Trixie is going to sleep now!  Thankfully, hubby is making her a bed out of some scrap wood, an old pillow and blanket.  I do believe we will put her in the corner of  the living room once the bed is done.

It is going to be an interesting night!
