what a week!

what a week!

What a week we have had. This is really the first chance that I have gotten to sit down and write. The week started of with snow. And then we got more snow. Then guess what happened? More snow!! LOL When all was said and done, from Saturday through Wednesday, we got approximately 2 feet of snow! That is a lot of snow for our area at this time.

Since we had so much snow, my husband and oldest son did not have work or school. So that always throws our homeschooling routine off a little. Then I started feeling a little ill. I started having a fibromyalgia flare-up. I was very tired, wanting to sleep all the time and I ached all over. As much as I love the cold weather, it does a number on my body. I try to stay as warm as possible so the pain isn’t too bad.

Thankfully by the end of the week, hubby and son were back at work and school. We were back on track with our homeschooling and the house was caught back up on cleaning. I am feeling much better and am looking forward to getting back on track with homeschooling and writing on the blog.

So thank you for being patient with me this week!!

Lamentations 3:25
25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.

More Snow!

More Snow!

As you know, the South has had a lot of snow the last few days. On Saturday, we got around 8 inches of snow. Then yesterday, we received another 11 inches. Yes, that is a lot for this area. My husband has been home from work the last 2 days and will even be home tomorrow as the college he works for is closed due to the snow and icy conditions. It is snowing again and they say we are supposed to get snow until Thursday. Being homeschoolers, we do not have to worry about school closings and missing school work. We will do our work and then go out to play. While some do not care much for the snow, our family loves it. I have enjoyed having my hubby home from work and my oldest son home from college. We enjoy the quality time that being snowed in provides for us. It definitely slows down the pace of our lives.

Snowball fights are always a blast!

Snow is knee deep on Sammy!

Attempting to build a BIG snowman.  This was the bottom of the snowman!

Still throwing snowballs at each other!

Christmas Snow

Christmas Snow

We woke up to it snowing on Christmas day. It continued to snow until we had around 9-10 inches of the fluffy white stuff on the ground.  While I stayed inside (since I was sick), my hubby donned his warm clothing and went outside with the kids.  He took some awesome pictures of them playing in the snow, as well as the area around our house.
As you can tell, it was still snowing while Sammy tried to sled down the hill.  It wasn’t working out all that great,. but it didn’t stop him from rolling around in it!  He had an awesome time!

This is the view of the front of our house.  I love how Buddy was able to capture some of the snowflakes with the camera.  It just looks so peaceful to me.

The kids were determined to sled and kept trying to pack down the snow.  They eventually won that battle and enjoyed every minute of sledding down the hill.

This is a picture of the view from my back yard.  Just beautiful.  We are truly blessed to live where we do.
