Dad’s Bible, The Father’s Plan – Book Review

While I am not crazy about this particular version of the Dad’s Bible (it is New Century Version), I have enjoyed reading the Insights that author Robert Wolgemuth added. Throughout the Bible, he also adds devotionals for extra learning. In the back of the Bible, they have excellent questions and answers to help you understand even more what the scripture is saying. The writer of this Bible also added topical index in the back as well as pages left blank for you to make notes. What I think I liked the most was the section on “God’s Word On”. This section takes words like Contentment and Discouragement and gives scripture to where you can read more on the subject. Again, while I do not care for the version of this Bible, I think it would be a good Bible for new Christian dads to read.

What Has Been Going On…

What Has Been Going On…

I have been busy, busy, busy!  I have been trying to plan for the new school year coming up.  We have a lot of our curriculum for the new year, but I still need to order some.  Hopefully I will be able to start getting lessons plans ready next week.  Looks like we will begin our new school year the first week of September.  We are also gearing up for college classes, co-ops, dance lessons and park days! Hard to believe I have a senior, 7th grader, 1st grader, and a kindergartner. The homeschool group I am part of is starting to plan for the new year and we have a lot of activities and opportunities to help each other through our journey.  I love being part of such a wonderful support group!

Last week, we spent time in Florida visiting with family.  We have many family members to visit since all of our family live within 20 minutes of each other.  The kids had a blast being spoiled rotten by all their grandparents.  We were able to celebrate my husband’s great grandma’s 97th birthday.  We were able to spend time with my mom and then got to take the kids to see the ocean with my mother-in-law.  We were also able to take the kids to the the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Manazas.  We were able to visit Manatee Springs in hopes of seeing a manatee.  I will be posting pictures and more on those little side trips soon!

As for writing and the blog, I have been asked if I would contribute to The Tuckers Take Tennessee.  I will be posting the 1st and 3rd Friday’s of the month.  My topic will be “Inspirations from the Smokies”.   Please keep me in your prayers, because I want to write what the Lord places on my heart and not what I want to write.

I will also be writing for Seeds of Faith and my first post with them will be on August 15th.  I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful team.  be sure to check the website daily for wonderful posts from some great writers!  Seeds of Faith is also on Facebook, so be sure to check us out there!

I am also helping out with the Hip Homeschool Moms on Facebook.  This is an awesome group of homeschool moms reaching out to other homeschooling moms, to encourage and support them in daily life.

So as you can see, it is a busy time around our house!  However, I am excited at what is coming our way.  God has been good to us and I am praying I can pass that along to others through our schooling, my blog and my writing!

Our Homeschool Home

I am linking up to Mingle Monday.  Be sure to stop by Robyn’s place, Our Homeschool Home to see all the others that have linked up.  You won’t be disappointed!
