Homeschool Village – Kids in the kitchen!

Homeschool Village – Kids in the kitchen!

Today the Homeschool Village is wanting us to talk about our kids and how we let them help in the kitchen. I am not for sure when we started letting our children help out in the kitchen. We have always tried to let them help regardless of what we are doing. The kids will set the table, get the cups and put ice in them. They also help clean off the table and put away things. This is something even a toddler can help with.

As for cooking, we start off with the basics. We let them help us get the ingredients, measure and mix the ingredients up. Something as easy as sugar cookies, you can let your children roll the dough out by themselves. They have a blast being able to use cookie cutters and placing the cookies on the baking sheet.

My oldest 2 can cook simple basic meals. It is nice on those nights when I do not feel like cooking, they will jump up and say they will do it.

It is also nice when your little ones want to help make you a birthday cake, like the one below. My youngest helped her daddy make the cake, plus the icing. She even picked out the cake decorations.

We were supposed to include a recipe and a picture of something that our children have helped with in the kitchen. While I don’t have the recipe, here is a picture of the cake.

Faith

I have been reading a lot on faith lately and I have come to this conclusion, being faithful will get you through the toughest times.

I thought I would share a few faith scriptures with you.

Galatians 5:5 – For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Romans 14:23 – But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
2 Peter 1:5-7 –5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

Hebrews 12:2 – looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight..

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Jude 1:20 – But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 2:5 – For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

1 John 5:4 –  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith
