End of Year Homeschool Picnic

End of Year Homeschool Picnic

This afternoon was our end of year picnic for our homeschool group. When we first arrived, we were a little worried that many families would not show for it had started to rain. However, many families braved the rain and we ended up having a large crowd to gather at a local park that is located next to a river.

Thankfully, God was looking out for us and the clouds parted for the sun to shine on us. We enjoyed a wonderful potluck lunch and many yummy desserts. We are so thankful for the food that everyone brought to share.

Once we were finished eating, the kids headed to the river to splash and play with one another. A couple of the boys even brought their fishing poles to see if they could catch some supper! The adults all gathered on the bank of the river to keep an eye on the children and to visit with one another.

My family is so thankful and blessed to be part of this Christian homeschool group. They are like a second family to us. It is always a blessing to get together and fellowship with one another. Even though this was the end of year picnic, I know we will continue talking and seeing each other throughout the summer. We will then come together at the end of summer and begin another year of homeschooling our children together.

Until then…

Sarah and her friend Caroline.

Claire and her friend Lorin.

Michael and his friends, Clay and Ben.

Samuel with his friends Daniel and Rylan.

As I Sit Here…

As I sit here thinking about my day and how busy it is and wonder how we will get everything done that needs to be done for the day a verse pops into my head.

Philippians 4:13 (King James Version)

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I know, that as long as I do everything for the glory of God, it will be alright. I do my best on a daily bases, to make sure all of my decisions and actions are for the glory of God. Not for me, not for my husband and not for anyone or anything else, but God.

Don’t get me wrong, on occasion I do mess up. However, the wonderful thing about that is, I learn from my mistake, acknowledge it and ask for forgiveness.

I have an awesome God who will forgive me.

For that, I am very thankful for.

Homeschool Village

Homeschool Village

Several blogs I have been reading lately have decided to host a Homeschool Village Blog Fair.
Stef at Layton Family Joy is where you can link your blog at.

So today, post and share what you are doing for homeschool during the month of June and also list 3 homeschool blogs that you enjoy.

Normally for the month of June, we take a short break after we test. We have family that come to visit towards the end of June and that is a special vacation time for us. However, this year, we have continued on with reviewing math. We also have been picking out books to read and share with others. We are also going to take part in in a Summer Reading program that our homeschool support group is hosting. So, in some ways, we are still doing school, but just taking a lighter load until our family comes to visit.

The 3 homeschooling bloggers I would like to mention are:

Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations

Stef at Layton Family Joy

Hal and Melanie Young at Raising Real Men

Have a blessed day!
