Weekly Weigh-In

It is that time once again. My weekly weigh-in. While I did not do as well as last weeks lost (5 lbs.) I did lose this week. I lost 1/2 lb. I am happy with that considering that we had family visiting and ate out quite a bit. I also noticed that I did not exercise or walk as much as what I did the previous week.

Since I started this back in February, I am down 22 lbs. I think that is pretty awesome! I am going to continue on this path no matter what. I know I feel better every day while getting this weight off of me.

My goals for this coming week are to keep track of my calories, as well as the fat, carbohydrates and protein that I eat. I will also keep my water intake up to around 100 ounces a day. My goal for exercising is to at least do some kind of cardio for 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week. I am also going to try and add some toning in this week too.

Looking forward to another great week!!

School…

Today is another typical day of school for us. We all get up and get breakfast. We do not usually do anything special for breakfast. We will have cereal, or eggs and toast. Some mornings though, I will cook pancakes. However, today was a cereal kind of day.

Then we got right to doing our school work. I am very thankful and blessed, for the most part, to have kids who will do school work without argument. Sarah got her History book out and started reading the required chapters. Once she finished her History, she then moved on to her Math. She doesn’t like to do Math, however, since I have changed her Math curriculum, we do not have near as much trouble doing it daily as what we did. For this, I am very thankful for. Sarah is now working on her Science and English. Since she has to write a paper on a disease, I am going to include this as an English grade also. She is doing the report on Malaria. She loves to do research for a paper and I am glad this will be an easy paper for her to write.

I found this awesome website that I have been using with Samuel and Claire. It is www.learningpage.com. It has worksheets up to grade level 3 that you can use with your kids. There are so many different types of lessons that you can learn about. They have sections on the Ocean, Zoo Animals, Space, Dinosaurs, Reptiles/Amphibians and Space. I usually print anywhere from 5-6 pages a day for Samuel and Claire. They LOVE this. I also print out a handwriting sheet from Kid Zone. Kid zone is another website that has a lot of awesome crafts and pages you can do with your kids.

Overall, today has been a good day for getting school work accomplished. We are now having lunch and will be starting on housework soon. It is a cool day and looks like it will be raining soon. So we will definitely be spending the day indoors.

Have a blessed day!

Sarah and Claire’s room..before AND after

Sarah and Claire’s room..before AND after

I started this project probably 3 weeks ago. My daughters room was horrible!! I have learned that it is very hard for a 12 year old and 4 year old to share a bedroom. You can tell by the pictures below just how bad it can get. I had finally had enough (usually go through this 3-4 times a year) and said it was time to do the overhaul. So I figured I would post before and after pictures. What better incentive to keep the room cleaned, than being threatened to post pictures of it on here!

I must say though, that it is hard to keep this room cleaned. Not only does she share it with a 4 year old, all the kids toys are in here as well. You see, this is the bigger of the 2 kids’ bedrooms. So, not only does she have toys from herself and the 4 year old, she also has toys that belong to her 5 year old brother.

I can finally say we are now finished cleaning the room. Below are pictures of what we started with. Yes, I am embarrassed and ashamed that I allowed it to get this bad. My children are definitely old enough to clean up and out their belongings in their proper places.

Below are before pictures.

Pretty bad, isn’t it! Yes, it is very bad. I will definitely be more diligent in keeping on the kids to keep it clean like we have it now. If they pick up after themselves every time they take something out and right before they go to bed, it should stay clean.

Below are pictures of the finished room.
