The Month Of January

Wow! What a month we have had! So much as gone on, I just don’t know where to begin. We started off the New Year just being at home together as a family. It was so nice. With the kids having so many activities, it is sometimes hard to get everyone together at the same time.

On January 7, Michael, our oldest turned 17. Michael is continuing on with his education at Southwestern Community College. He is taking 19 credit hours again this semester. Then on top of that, he is doing 2 classes with me at home. He is taking Spanish I and Music Appreciation. Michael is still involved with the Civil Air Patrol, goes to Youth meetings at church as well as having a part time job. I do not see how he does it all. He is a good kid and has a good head on his shoulders. I am so proud of him.

Sarah is just as busy with her schooling. She is very busy at home with her math, language arts, science and history. On Friday’s she is involved with science and history co-ops. Sarah is still taking dance lessons and loving every minute of it. She has many hobbies with drawing and writing being her 2 favorite. She has been blessed with these wonderful gifts and it is amazing out God is working in her life.

Samuel and Claire are just as busy with their schooling as their older siblings. I am working on Kindergarten material with both kids. I figured since there are only 18 months between them and they do everything else together, why not school! This has been a success! They are enjoying it so much! I have found an awesome site that has worksheets of subjects that they are interested in. It has been a big hit with them. We have talked about Dinosaurs and have now moved on to Ocean Animals. They are doing a wonderful job!

After Buddy slipped on ice on January 8th and suffered a concussion, he is doing much better. He ended up taking a week off work to recover some and has recovered quite well. God has truly blessed us, because that fall could have been much worse. We are thankful that it was a mild concussion and he has recovered with no other problems. Buddy’s job is going well and he is still enjoying working at the college.

Amazing how we are almost at the end of January 2010. Seems like it just turned January 1st. Just goes to show how time flies when you are truly blessed by the love of God.

Noah Estes..A Precious Boy and How YOU Can Help His Family Out

A family friend of the Estes Family has put together a wonderful opportunity with the help of many homeschooling Christian Publishers. This is a fund raiser to help the Estes family. Noah Estes is a precious boy who is suffering from a terrible medical condition. I am just going to link to the page where you can find more out about this awesome deal. It will also take you to where you can learn about Noah and his blessed family. I do not know this family personally, but they will soon grow on your heart.
